We found this car in Langley, BC in 1999. It was a parts
car, but had very little rust. Once home, I began the frame off
restoration. Cleaned up the frame, added Jim Meyer front suspension. Did
the rear spring picket and narrowed a Ford 9" rear end to fit. I added
3/4" forward motor mounts and built a transmission x-member. With the
running gear complete, I dropped in the motor/trans and bolted up the
driveline.
Next came the bodywork. Driver side floorpan needed to
be replaced so I welded in a new on along with cutting out the rust in
the front fender eyebrows. After much more work I finally gave in at
this point and sent the car out for final blocking and painting. This
was about the only part of the car I did not do myself. When the
stainless went on my '56 was born again.
